03 Oct Donovan’s Participation in Dine Out is Personal
Donovan’s Steak & Chop House, deemed by The Zagat Survey to be one of San Diego’s finest restaurants, is the latest restaurant to sign on as a Dine Out for the Cure partner. And for a key member of Donovan’s leadership team, the relationship with Susan G. Komen San Diego is personal.
“Robin was a big influence in my life – she was a Mom to me and a best friend,” says Joe Luca, Sous Chef at Donovan’s. “When she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002 it hit me hard. I never thought that someone so amazing and caring could be affected by something as terrible as this. When she passed in 2003 I was devastated. She was the most kind and caring person I have ever met in my life and I will never forget her. I wear my breast cancer pin every day for her.”
Honor Robin and Joe by visiting Donovan’s on Dine Out for the Cure Day happening October 12.
And you won’t be sorry.
“Astronomically delicious steaks so tender you can cut them with a butter knife,” glows the Zagat Guide. “The food – along with an extensive wine and whiskey list, impeccable service and cozy atmosphere – make any meal at Donovan’s a best do experience.”Dine Out for the Cure
About Dine out
For one delicious day, local restaurants, bakeries, and coffeehouses across San Diego will participate in Susan G. Komen San Diego’s Dine Out for the Cure®. It’s simple. Eat at a participating restaurant and you’ll help San Diego breast cancer patients become breast cancer survivors. For every dollar you spend, anywhere from 10-25% of the restaurant’s profits for the day will go to Komen San Diego to help fund breast health services and support.
In 2016, Dine Out for the Cure raised $26,000. This year we hope to raise $35, 000 for local breast health services and support.
