15 Jun An Ode to Row
Since COVID-19 occurred just a few months ago, much of our world has changed. During this pandemic, Susan G. Komen San Diego has successfully shifted its programs, services, and events while providing uninterrupted critical services for breast cancer patients, and raising the necessary funds to support our mission.
After 19 years, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Komen San Diego Row for the Cure event. While this is incredibly disappointing, the health and safety of our constituents, volunteers, sponsors, and the community as a whole remain our priority. We would like to thank UC San Diego Athletics for your long-time partnership and for uniting many rowers, SUP boarders, kayakers, and all other human powered watercrafts to work toward the same goal of ending breast cancer.
Row for the Cure was more than a water competition but a day where we could put aside everything else in our lives and share our stories, our laughter, and our tears to raise money that saves lives. During this unprecedented time, we are focusing our limited resources on virtual events, supporting DIY fundraisers and redirecting our Komen family to walk at Race for the Cure.
We still need your help! We invite you to participate in our other events or host your own fundraiser. The funds you raise support breast health programs in our community. No matter what is happening in the world, breast cancer does not stop and neither do we; as long as breast cancer is here, we are here to fight it with you.
Our promise remains: to save lives and end breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. If you are in need of assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at 858-573-2760.
