Karla Lopez, Sr. Representative – Constituent Relations
Karla is Susan G. Komen’s Senior Representative, Constituent Relations. Prior to joining Susan G. Komen San Diego in 2014, Karla was an Office Manager for a Cardiologist in Bonita and had recently became a California Certified Massage Therapist.
Karla received her AA in General Studies from Southwestern College. Karla became an advocate for Komen San Diego when her sister was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. Her sister, Sandra, initially received support services from Komen San Diego and continues her fight today as her cancer has metastasized. Inspired by Sandra’s battle and by the support Komen provided, each year Karla rallies her family and friends to form the largest non-corporate team in the Race for the Cure with over 100 members. She has yet to be beat!
Outside of work, Karla loves to spend time with her family and friends, running, hiking, massaging, and going on different adventures. Karla was born in Tijuana, Mexico, raised in National City, California. She is one of seven siblings and has three children whom she raised on her own. Her oldest, Jason graduated from Cal Poly Pomona. Nathaniel, her middle son is currently attending Southwestern College, and her daughter Alessandra is at CSUSM. Her kids are her pride and joy.
