13 Mar Scatena Daniels Communications Creates Excitement and Awareness for Susan G. Komen San Diego
Susan G. Komen San Diego relies not only on financial donations to fund mission-centered programs for women and men affected by breast cancer. They rely on in-kind donations of professional services. Scatena Daniels Communications, a certified woman-owned PR firm, has provided strategic media outreach services to help us achieve our fundraising goals and also to promote our community resources for families in San Diego fighting breast cancer.
Maybe you’ve seen a member of the Susan G. Komen San Diego team on TV, heard us on the radio, or read about our cause in your newspaper or on your favorite San Diego news website. The Scatena Daniels team is the group that arranges these opportunities so that others may be inspired by the stories of breast cancer survivors, honorees, corporate sponsors, and volunteers who give their time, talent, and treasure to our mission. Their work is primarily behind the scenes, but is vital to our fundraising success and advancement of our cause.
“It has been an honor spotlighting Komen San Diego’s free community mammogram events, innovative lifesaving research, and sharing stories of courage and strength of San Diego breast cancer survivors and thrivers,” says Suzy Garcia, director, Scatena Daniels Communications. “Through our efforts, we have helped position the organization as the go-to expert on breast cancer treatment, legislation and advocacy in San Diego County.”
Scatena Daniels has powered our PR efforts since 2015, and their results have been remarkable. They have secured hundreds of interviews, resulting in thousands of media placements and earned value in the millions. In 2018 alone, they have helped us reach 54 million people and earn more than $1 million in media value for Race for the Cure. You couldn’t turn on your local news during Race season and not see an interview with a breast cancer survivor, top supporter, or our leadership team. Over the last four years of our partnership, we have received calls from the public who tell us they were inspired to get a mammogram or have reached out for assistance because they saw us “on the news.”
Their strategic connections don’t stop with media. In Fall 2018, the Scatena Daniels team coordinated a partnership with the San Diego Convention Center. For the first time ever, the center lit up their iconic sails to a beautiful pink hue to recognize October’s Breast Cancer Action Month and the positive work Susan G. Komen San Diego does in the community throughout the entire year.
“As a certified small business celebrating 10 years of service to the San Diego community in 2019, giving back to organizations like Susan G. Komen San Diego has been in our DNA since day one,” says Arika Daniels, founding partner, Scatena Daniels Communications. “Our work primarily focuses on healthcare, professional services, and philanthropy. You cannot find a better intersection for the donation of our time and energy than with Komen San Diego.”
Join us in saying thank you to Scatena Daniels Communications for their strategic insight and connections that contribute to our ongoing success.
