San Diego Landmark, Hob Nob Hill, Rallies Behind Employee Affected by Breast Cancer

Ysela Hoffman has worked at the Hob Nob Hill Restaurant located in Bankers Hill for over 18 years. Last year, Ysela was diagnosed with breast cancer. Like many individuals, she was overwhelmed by the costs associated with this disease and was having difficulties with her insurance. She reached out to Susan G. Komen San Diego to help cover the costs of her treatment through Komen San Diego’s Financial Assistance Fund.

“One morning at work, I overheard two women talking about Susan G. Komen,” said Ysela. “I approached them and explained the difficulties I was having. They happened to work at Komen San Diego and guided me on how to get the help I needed.”

That is why Hob Nob Hill is joining Dine Out for the Cure and pledging 25% of their days’ profit for breakfast, lunch and dinner hours on Thursday, Oct. 18th.

Komen San Diego’s work is about improving the law, changing systems, removing barriers and most importantly, elevating the women and men directly impacted by breast cancer. Hob Nob Hill is proud to support Komen San Diego in the sixth annual Dine Out for the Cure so that women like Ysela can find the support they deserve.

Hoffman successfully completed her treatment and is now cancer free!
