Rally for the Cure — Golf, tennis, dinner events and so much more...
Major step in personalized treatment — Thanks to a 2007 research grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, scientists identified a set of 50 genes that oncologists can potentially use to tailor individualized treatments for all breast cancer patients.
San Diego’s 14th annual Race for the Cure © is one of the largest running events in Southern California. Started in 1995, we have grown from 2,039 participants to more than 12,000 in 2008, raising more than $8.5 million for local breast care services.
Out of town on Race Day? Work nights? Or just want to Sleep In? Support Komen San Diego from home! Register for Sleep In for the Cure and your T-shirt will be mailed to you before the Race. You must register by 10/17!
New and returning volunteers are encouraged to get involved. All volunteers will receive a T-shirt! Click the volunteers link in the left-hand navigation for volunteer opportunities.
Main stage at 7:30 a.m. (Meet at 7:20 at the Survivor Village) Don't miss this very special celebration featuring our inspirational annual survivor parade, Honorary Survivor ceremony and entertainment.
Emotional. Memorable. Motivational. I AM THE CURE is Komen's new rallying cry encouraging women and men to take an active role in their breast health. The program speaks to the importance of early detection -- the best defense against breast cancer -- and provides simple, action-oriented messages that Race participants can take home and put into practice. Listen for the cheers as you walk or run and JOIN IN!
