Major step in personalized treatment — Thanks to a 2007 research grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, scientists identified a set of 50 genes that oncologists can potentially use to tailor individualized treatments for all breast cancer patients.
Komen Race for the Cure®
The annual Komen San Diego Race for the Cure was Sunday, November 1 in Balboa Park. It was more than just a fun run/walk. It was a celebration of life, a remembrance of those we've lost and a bright morning of hope. On behalf of the thousands of women and their families who will benefit from your participation and generosity all year here in San Diego County - thank you.

We did it!
We busted thru the $1 million mark on fundraising for the 2009 Race for the Cure!
Thanks to YOU, even in these tough economic times, we have met - and surpassed - our goal. Corporate sponsorships were down 20% in this Race - but people like you and your friends and family came through. We actually saw an increase in small donations - people reaching deep in their pockets for whatever they could afford to give. Neighbors. Friends. Coworkers. Family. Strangers.
Please remember that the funds raised will be at work right here in San Diego County helping uninsured women and their families with local breast cancer diagnostics, treatment, services, outreach and research. And also know that when and if YOU need help, we'll be there for you, just like you've been there for us.
Remember what Albert Pine said many years ago: what we do for ourselves alone dies with us; but what we have done for others and the world remains - and is - immortal.
Fundraising open thru December 1
Online and mail-in fundraising will be open thru December 1. All donations will count towards earning Komen Promise Dollars to use in our Komen Shop. Every dollar counts! It's easy! Just use your personal fundraising page to send emails to your friends and family. Or send cash or checks with this pledge form.
